Is it Legal?

Instead of listing countries or regions where Amanita Muscaria is allowed, it is much simpler to state the handful of places where it is illegal. Since muscimol mushrooms are less popular than psilocybin mushrooms, legislators may have overlooked them. Here are the five places where Amanita Muscaria mushrooms are prohibited:

Louisiana, USA – The only state where muscimol mushrooms are banned, and it is illegal to grow, possess, sell, or buy Amanita muscaria mushrooms.

Romania – Amanita muscaria mushrooms have been banned in Romania since 2010, but people may still gather them in the wild and in rural areas, where possession is less likely to be enforced.

Thailand – The use, storage, transportation, and distribution of Amanita mushrooms is illegal in Thailand, but there is a thriving magic mushroom market in touristy/party areas.

The Netherlands – All magic mushrooms, including Amanita muscaria and Amanita pantherina, have been banned in the Netherlands since December 2008, but magic truffles remain legal.

Australia – Amanita muscaria is illegal in Australia as muscimol is a schedule 9 drug in this country.

As of now, these five locations are the only ones where Amanita Muscaria mushrooms and/or muscimol products are banned.

Unless you reside in any of the five prohibited locations, you can rest easy knowing that Amanita Muscaria mushrooms are legal in your area.
